Happy Anniversary!

Excerpted from an email of Jan Lennon, Secretary of the Board:

Hello, Fellow Travelers,

On behalf of Bill Steinberg, it is my honor and privilege as Secretary to remind everyone that John Cary is celebrating his 30th anniversary as Executive Director of the MACC Fund on February 15, 2012.  John’s longevity and devotion to the MACC Fund mission and his constancy of service to families struggling with a diagnosis of childhood cancer have made a world of difference to countless people. It would be nice, if you have the time, to recognize this special anniversary. Thank you.

  1. Dear John … Thank you for doing so well what you love to do! In 30 years I have NEVER once heard you say … oh I wish I didn’t have to go to work today! I think the lack of those eleven words pretty well sums up your passion, commitment and dedication to an incredible cause. I know how much you LOVE the The MACC Fund … to say the least it is in your marrow. Thank you for what you have done to allow the doctors and researcher to award the title SURVIVOR to so many children while never losing sight of the ANGELS that once danced to the music of life!

    So very proud of you!

  2. Thank you John for all you have done to help children with cancer. We lost a little cousin, named Chase, about 10 yrs ago. Watching what he went through to try to save his life was heart breaking. It touched me and I have never been the same. Chase lost his battle with AML, he was 4 years old.

Four years later I was dx with a blood cancer. It sparked me to give of myself to help children for as long as I can.

Wishing you many more years of giving and working.

  3. This is a fantastic milestone and there is no doubt that you have made a difference in the lives of those that have coped and are coping with childhood cancer. John, you have been great to our family and a blessing to this community. Congratulations on 30 years!

Ryan, Kat, Nina, and Noah Polzin
